A civil society conference on PEACE was held at pearl continent hotel Lahore on July 18th, 2012. This admirable conference was organized by BARDASHT foundation. BARDASHT is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization that aims to unite for peace, non violence and to create a peaceful Pakistan. BARDASHT, under the supervision of NILOFER BUKHTIYAR, Chair person BARDASHT, is working on national level on issues like health, economic empowerment of women, human rights, disaster management, awareness raising campaigns etc.
This conference was organized under the flag of BARDASHT LAHORE CHAPTER, Musarrat Misbah, a veteran beautician and owner of Depilex Smileagain Foundation for Acid Burn Victims was the chair person for this event. and was being supervised by ALIYA KHAN, Asst. Secretary Lahore Chapter.
The cardinal intention of this event was to unite some great personalities of Pakistan for discussing the problems being faced by the human family and devising a plan to bring peace to earth.
The event started at 9 am with the recitation of holy Quran followed by the welcome note and addresses by Musarrat Misbah, Nilofer Bukhtayar and Aliya khan. There were two sessions separated by lunch break.
Mr. Latif Khan Khosa, Governor Punjab accompanied by his wife Mrs. Khosa was the chief guest for the morning session while , Rana Iqbal, Speaker Punjab Assembly was the chief guest for the evening session. The sessions moved around the healthy discussions and speeches by Dr.Gabriella ( surgeon from Italy), Dr.Rizwan Naseer, Rani , Sheikh Hafeez(lawyer) and Brig Nuzhat Hafeez(president Punjab BARDASHT).
There were healthy group discussions which resulted in gathering recommendations and great ideas. Finally, the addresses of chief guests were followed by the “charter of demands” presentation and closing remarks.
The conference ended at 6 pm and everyone seemed enthusiastic and happy after a wonderful event.
We need to have such healthy discussions, conferences and unity in order to bring peace to earth.
