Josephine Barkat

Josephine Barkat from Lahore was burnt in religious disputes between Muslims and Christians. Josephine’s brother quarreled with neighbors and in response the neighbors set the house on fire. She was alone at home and fast asleep when the incident took place. Her neck, chest and face were badly burnt. One eye was also lost. Josephine got registered with DSF in 2010 and has gone through multiple surgeries. Recently her eyeball was implanted through prosthesis to lift her face image. She was supported to complete courses in fashion designing and beauty. She is now happily working as a beautician in Depilex Salon in Lahore. As a side income she also designs and stitches clothes for lady customers.
