DSF is happy to share that the Brand Ambassador and Acid attack Survivor of DSF; Ahmer Iqbal has finally gotten justice after 5 years. The perpetrator is given lifetime imprisonment with a fine of 1 million. In 2016, Acid was thrown on Ahmer, a promising IT instructor over a marriage proposal. Since then Ahmer has gone through a very difficult rehabilitation. Masarrat Misbah has also filed petition in Sindh High Court to introduce a law specifically dealing with acid attacks and for regulating the sale and purchase of acids as incidents of violence through use of an acid are on the rise.
DSF hopes the other acid attack victims also get in time.
