KFC Women Forum organized a full day Conference on Women
Entrepreneurship on Saturday, 31at August 2013 in Pearl Continental
Hotel, Lahore to address the specific needs, challenges, and
opportunities faced by women entrepreneurs.
KFC Women’s Forum has been initiated with the intent of providing
women professionals with a platform to network, learn from each other
and be a part of leadership training programs. They also get a chance
to participate in community services, and bring their collective
problems to light through this forum. The forum will accelerate
professional women’s opportunities to grow, manage and excel in their
respective positions by providing powerful access to powerful
networks.
The forum is working under an advisory board consist of Ms. Mehtab
Akbar Rashidi – Director HUM TV, Begum Akram Khatoon – Former
President, First Women Bank, Ms. Jahan Ara Hai – Vice President APWA,
Begum Saleema Ahmed- President Pakistan Federation of Business &
Professional Women’s Organization, Ms. Imrana Maqsood –Writer and Ms.
Rohana Iqbal- owner of Bhabhi’s beauty Clinic
Many successful women entrepreneurs of Pakistan joined the conference
and shared their experiences and struggle. Charmine Hidayatullah –
President First Women Bank, Mussarat Misbah- Depilex, , Shafaq Habib –
First Jewelry designer of Pakistan, Dr Shehla Javed Akram – Founder
President Women chamber of commerce, Seema Aziz, Managing Director
Sefam and SMEDA.
Sukkur IBA was the academic partner for the conference and organized a
panel discussion with prominent academics who spoke about the role of
education in entrepreneurship specifically women entrepreneurship.
Participants of the conference were made aware of the latest
developments in education with relation to entrepreneurship and were
told of young women entrepreneurs flourishing in universities all over
the country.
Ms. Zakia Shahnawaz, Minister Population Welfare Department joined the
Conference as a Chief Guest and emphasized the role of women
entrepreneurs in reviving the economy.
KFC Women Forum also introduced 15 women entrepreneur along with their
product display in the conference to support them to grow further.
