Razia Mustafa
Razia Mustafa is a young lady and belongs to a family from Muzaffarabad. Currently she is living in Karachi. Her father died leaving the mother and the young daughter behind. Her mother used to work in the harvest fields to earn a livelihood. In the same village there was a loose character young boy who regularly followed and teased Razia. Razia complained to her mother and the boy was scolded off many times. In spite of that his bad behaviour continued. When he finally realised that Razia was not interested in him, he planned wickedness to teach her a lesson. One day when Razia was on her way to fetch water from the nearby well, the boy followed her. Unluckily, it was evening time and most of the people were in their homes. Taking advantage of the situation, the culprit pushed from the back. As she fell down he took out a bottle of kerosene oil, splashed on Razia and lit fire. All of this happened so suddenly that Razia couldn’t even run to escape. The boy ran away. Razia screamed with pain. The neighbourhood gathered. She was taken to a nearby clinic and provided emergency services. Her face, chest and neck were severely burnt.
After this incident she moved to Karachi with her mother. She met a friend in Karachi who asked Razia to get in touch with DSF. Razia contacted DSF and got registered in 2016. Since then Razia has gone through a number of surgeries. Since her burns are multiple and deep she still requires further surgeries and for this DSF urge your support.
In the meantime DSF has arranged for her to work in a house as a cleaner to earn a livelihood and sustain herself.
