In March 2023, the Depilex Smileagain Foundation remained committed to its mission of providing medical care and assistance to acid attack survivors, while also empowering them to become productive, self-reliant members of society. Their vision extends beyond just the immediate needs of these survivors.
On March 8th and 9th the foundation was invited by Beaconhouse Liberty Campus to celebrate International Women’s Day. Masarrat Misbah, along with two burn victims, shared their stories with the students and displayed a DSF stall on campus. The children showed affection, took pictures with the survivors, and even wore their bands.
On March 16th, DSF held a workshop in collaboration with Pehnawa House, where burn survivors learned how to make handmade jewelry. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the activity and successfully learned the basics of this craft.
On March 17th, Masarrat Misbah was invited by the Punjab Health Commission to share the difficulties faced in the health sector with the objective of preparing guidelines for improvement. On the same day, Ayesha Taslim participated in a talk session on the Revival of Commitment to Pakistan, organized by UMT Iqbalian Society.
On March 18th, Masarrat Misbah spoke at the event ‘Shematers’, elaborating on the difficulties faced by burn victims and how DSF helped them overcome these challenges. On March 19th, DSF distributed rashan bags and Eid dresses to 50 burn survivors with the help of KKN.
On March 20th, International Down Syndrome Day was celebrated with a special show presented by children at the Children Library Complex. Ayesha Taslim, along with other NGO representatives, was invited to distribute badges to the children. DSF hosted a stall manned by two burn survivors at the exhibition corner.
